After the rigors of the Nethercutt Collection, I decided to treat myself to something very special: a meal at the best restaurant in all LA!
So I drove to the airport. At the Sepulveda Boulevard In-and-Out, I ordered a No. 2 meal (cheeseburger, fries and a Coke), took it to the tables outside right next to the drive-thru line, and watched the planes pass a couple hundred feet overhead just seconds before landing like this Virgin Airbus A340 coming from London.
What a treat! I try to dine here every time I come to LA.
OK, I’ll admit it, the food is not that great. But nothing in the city beats the ambiance!
I sat down mid-afternoon, and even though LAX is the airport with the highest volume of 747 jumbo jets landing and taking off, only three arrived while I was there, and I was only able to photograph one of them, the KLM from Amsterdam (top) at a distance.
Air France 777 from Paris.
